When moving around in the Icelandic landscape, the thing that struck me over and over was that it often felt somewhat unreal. As if being embedded in a fairy-tale environment. I am not sure how surprised I would be if some supernatural being suddenly appeared behind the next bend. It’s a landscape that invites your imagination to take slightly wider turns than you may be used to.

This image was shot at Svínafellsjökull, a small glacier tongue from Vatnajökull. It melts into a small lake, from which the water flows to the sea. The site is one of the Icelandic filming locations of Game of Thrones. We had a cloud layer, but luckily there was a hole in it, letting the sun through long enough to make some nice images.
